TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises) is a unique method of calming the nervous system and releasing stress, tension, and trauma stored in the body. First, we will do a few simple warm-up exercises to gently fatigue and stretch targeted areas of the body. These are designed to make it easy to connect with your body's natural "tremoring" reflex (this might feel like gentle shaking, rocking, swaying, quivering, vibrating). Experiencing this neurogenic tremoring can be quite enjoyable as it releases the stress and tension from your body. Some reported benefits of practicing TRE include feelings of calm and deep relaxation, improved sleep, decreased stress and anxiety, reduced body aches and pain, and increased trauma resilience. Who of us couldn't benefit from that? Please wear clothes that are loose or stretchy that you can move in comfortably (like yoga pants or sweats). Yoga mats will be provided. No prior experience needed.
